A small burning brand is applied to the centre of the first sample for 1 minute to assess initial ignition behaviour under controlled conditions on a sloped surface. This stage evaluates how the system responds to direct localised ignition at the early stages of fire exposure.
3 more consecutive tests are done on samples exposed to supplementary radiant heat and airflow conditions, with burning brands re-applied after 5 minutes and moved across the surface to assess fire spread and penetration. The system is monitored for up to 1 hour, simulating more severe, real-world external fire exposure conditions.
